Starr Hill’s Taste of Honey Belgian-Style Dubbel is our rendition of the classic Belgian Dubbel. Wildflower honey from t Hungry Hill Farm in Shipman, Virginia, was uses in place of the traditional Belgian candi sugar. Dark fruit and spicy aromatics from Belgian Abbey yeast meld nicely with caramel and toffee flavors from Munich and chocolate malts. Taste of Honey has a medium body and just enough bitterness for balance.
This Spring Saison is light blonde in color with a fresh hoppiness and a wild and rustic Brettanomyces character. Lighter in color and alcohol than the Saison Rue, yet equally complex in its own way. The wild yeast in Saison de Lente will continue to dry it out over time, giving a slightly more mature character to vintage bottles. Perfect for warmer weather picnics and Spring celebrations.
